British heritage brand Wedgwood partnered with creative technology studio XXII to launch Jasper250, a generative AI platform and co-creation campaign celebrating 250 years of Jasperware.

Reimagining Jasperware

Wedgwood invited the public to shape the next chapter of its history through an AI-driven design competition. Built by XXII, the Jasper250 platform let anyone create a personalised Jasper vase by choosing from historic shapes, selecting colour palettes, and guiding the tool with themed prompts.

Wedgwood aimed to revive the experimental spirit of founder Josiah Wedgwood. XXII helped the brand explore AI and creative technology while preserving Wedgwood's craftsmanship and aesthetic language.

During research, we focused on two strengths of generative AI: scalable output and giving non-specialists the ability to produce coherent, compelling visuals. With Wedgwood's in-house team, we set creative guardrails on both backend and interface.

The campaign mechanics were built for sharing. Entrants posted creations on social media, which compounded reach and created a network effect around the tool and competition.

The winning Jasper250 design was modelled and 3D printed in full colour for display at the V&A Wedgwood Collection in September 2025.
